History - What are other people’s toys like?

 Today in History, we looked at toys and thought about how they would be played with, and who would most likely want to play with. 


We decided that toys that were fun for babies are very different to toys an older child would like to play with. We talked about the toys we like and how these were different to our younger/older siblings. 


The children then sorted the images of toys according to who they were best suitable for! Good job everyone.

 Today we did some observational drawings of flowers and combined them with our hand prints from last lesson. We looked really carefully at the size and shapes of the flowers and petals and tried to copy them. Everyone worked really hard and did some lovely detailed drawings. This week in Maths!

This week we have been looking at representing numbers in different ways. On our hands, in a tens frame, a part-whole model, with cubes… the children thought of it all!  We looked at counting objects and showing these in a tens frame and the children really enjoyed using some lovely, shiny stones to do this!

DT - Levers and pivots

 We continued with our topic on moving pictures today. We looked at how a seesaw worked and talked about levers and pivots. We then had a go at making our own moving pictures with a pivot and lever. We either made a cat with a moving tail or a wolf with a chomping mouth!  The children really enjoyed this and all the moving pictures looked amazing!
