PHSE- Managing online information

Image
Today we talked about the trustworthiness of the internet. There was lots of discussion about how not everything on the internet is accurate, nice or helpful. We spoke about who we could speak to if we saw something online that upset us, and I showed the children how to report a webpage.  To reiterate the point that not everything we see can be trusted, we looked through this picture quiz. We found it quite tricky to identify the real images, I wonder if you have better luck than us! Real or Fake Quiz

PHSE- Making safe and healthy choices online

Image
Today we considered how to keep safe and make healthy choices when using technology. We thought about how some rules we have keep us safe from others (like not giving our personal details out when playing games) and those that keep us healthy and happy (like taking regular breaks to ensure we don't strain our eyes). We also considered if these rules needed to change if our location altered.

PHSE- Online Bullying

Image
Today we started to think about Online Bullying in our PHSE lesson. We were introduced to the monster Merri, and talked about how Merri should behave when playing games or talking to friends online. We had discussions around what messages would be kind to send and which ones may be hurtful.  We then looked at some suggested do's and don'ts.

PHSE - Internet Safety

Today in PHSE we looked at internet safety. We spoke about ‘permission’ and when we need to ask for permission to do something online and why it is important. We looked at different scenario cards and discussed if we would need permission to do these things.  - Watch videos on a website - Buy some new levels in your favourite game.  - Take a photo of someone else.  - Change the password on your tablet.  We had some brilliant discussions and the children were able to explain why they thought asking for permission was important.
