PHSE- Managing online information

 Today we talked about the trustworthiness of the internet. There was lots of discussion about how not everything on the internet is accurate, nice or helpful. We spoke about who we could speak to if we saw something online that upset us, and I showed the children how to report a webpage. 



To reiterate the point that not everything we see can be trusted, we looked through this picture quiz. We found it quite tricky to identify the real images, I wonder if you have better luck than us!

 Today we did some observational drawings of flowers and combined them with our hand prints from last lesson. We looked really carefully at the size and shapes of the flowers and petals and tried to copy them. Everyone worked really hard and did some lovely detailed drawings. This week in Maths!

This week we have been looking at representing numbers in different ways. On our hands, in a tens frame, a part-whole model, with cubes… the children thought of it all!  We looked at counting objects and showing these in a tens frame and the children really enjoyed using some lovely, shiny stones to do this!

DT - Levers and pivots

 We continued with our topic on moving pictures today. We looked at how a seesaw worked and talked about levers and pivots. We then had a go at making our own moving pictures with a pivot and lever. We either made a cat with a moving tail or a wolf with a chomping mouth!  The children really enjoyed this and all the moving pictures looked amazing!
